Would you take advantage of getting a free movie ticket in this scenario?

If an usher at a multiplex theater tore your ticket that's actually
intended for the next day's showtime, could you use the usher's
mistake to your advantage by coming back the next day with the
half-stub BEFORE the designated showtime to ask for a refund/exchange?
Refunds are always accepted as long as it's not more than 30 minutes
past the showtime.

Is it your fault that the usher didn't pay attention to the wrong date
on the stub? Why/why not?
